Gary Hull - President

The founder and President of Harborside Capital Resources, Gary has over 30 years of M&A, private equity and business development experience. He oversees all aspects of the firm’s activities including origination search activities, client relations, and business development.  Gary works collaboratively with private equity, corporate and family office clients to support their acquisition and corporate development strategies. He advises company owners seeking liquidity through a full or partial sale of their company and provides connections to uniquely qualified buyers.

Prior to Harborside Capital, Gary was a founding partner of Summer Street Capital Partners in Buffalo, NY. Summer Street is a private equity fund investing throughout the US and Canada and managing a $500 million portfolio. During his 15-year Summer Street tenure, Gary focused on marketing and deal origination sourced directly and through referral sources.  

Previously,  Gary was a Partner with Buffalo Ventures, a Buffalo-based merchant banking and M&A firm, and has held CEO and senior executive roles in automotive-related industry companies.

Gary is a founder, the initial President, and a 12-year board member of the Upstate Venture Association of New York (UVANY) as well as a member of numerous industry associations including, ACG, CVCA, IBBA/M&A Source, and AM&AA. He serves on multiple boards and holds a BS in Business and Economics from Culver Stockton College.


Bryan Luce - Vice President

Bryan joined Harborside in 2017 and is focused on buy-side origination search and providing M&A support to owners interested in identifying buyers for their companies. On origination search projects, Bryan works extensively in executing engagements to include market analysis, researching industry participants and developing related relationships. In providing M&A support to owners interested in selling, Bryan participates in all facets of facilitating successful sale transactions for owners.  

Bryan has a diverse background in corporate management and finance with organizations of all sizes, including start-ups, mid-market as well as market-leading Fortune 200 organizations. In addition to his extensive experience in M&A, growth and turnaround strategies, Bryan is an entrepreneur, founding several start-up companies and serving as a mentor and angel investor.   Bryan has worked across multiple sectors, including aviation, agri-tech, med-tech, green/clean-tech, manufacturing, plastics, construction, transportation & logistics, real estate, finance and technology.

Bryan attended Paul Smith’s College, and Villanova University, for Business management and accounting. He is a mentor for multiple early-stage Incubators, and programs for NYSERDA, and the Clean Tech Open. Bryan is Certified in lean processes, Sig-Sigma, and project management.

Alfred DuPuy - Vice President

Alfred recently joined Harborside Capital as VP of Acquisition Research & Analytics. He supports buy-side engagements by profiling industry sectors and the participant companies to identify those businesses and owners that optimally fit search criteria. 

For owners who have approached Harborside Capital interested in exploring selling their company to one of our buyers, Alfred evaluates the buyer universe to identify clients and ideal buyers interested in the business and understanding the owner's interests. His research ensures a high level of documentation on companies, market positions, financial performance, and prospects for our search clients as well as an analysis of the optimum private equity or family office buyers for business owners seeking a confidential and minimally disruptive sale. 

Before Harborside Capital, Alfred was a senior executive with Interbrand, a strategic and design consultancy and branding group, working with many of the world’s foremost businesses and brands. Leading teams, offices, and practice areas, Alfred also worked with senior leadership teams to deliver strategic directions leading to growth and lead numerous valuation projects highlighting the brand's power as an asset and how that can reshape management thinking on leveraging the brand for maximum impact. 

Previously, Alfred was a global agricultural commodities trader specializing in grains and feedstuffs, providing him the opportunity to live in and work across North and South America, Europe, and Asia. He developed technical analysis and expertise in options trading to enhance firms' capabilities for both hedging and profit-generating activities while also extending market presence and business opportunities. 

Alfred graduated from Swarthmore College and earned an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with concentrations in Finance, Accounting, and Decision Support Modeling. He is also a Board Member for the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway, a Class II Regional railroad based in northeastern Ohio, and participates in multiple civic and local projects.
